Gr. Ch. Eudype de la Cornaline

On the 24th of November 2009, after much negotiation and deliberation, we managed to aquire a new tom.  He was bred near Rennes in France by Valerie Bourel of La Cournaline cattery.

He was a total outcross to all of the Valinor, and South African, bloodlines.

He had already competed in his first show at the age of 5 months in Paris, where he achieved a nomination for Best in Show!

He was a Blue Silver and he carried the genes for both lilac and chocolate.

Eudype caused quite a stir at the shows and managed a clean sweep of certificates up to 5 of his 6 Supreme Certificates.  On the way he managed to get nominated a few times and was placed in his first line-up.  Unfortunately, achieving his Supreme was never meant to be.  He had his first withheld at a show in Cape Town and that turned out to be his last show.  In May of the next year, he had died of cancer.  Luckily, Janet Cook had managed to retain a few of his offspring, including his son.  So we didn’t lose his contribution to the gene-pool.

To be honest, I was devastated at the time and it took me a while to recover.  He was the sweetest cat and the first really calm show cat that I’d ever had.  His contribution to our gene-pool has been substantial, albeit small in number.  He will always be in our hearts and minds.
